![]() ![]() Hello Everyone, I could begin every one of these messages by saying "Where has the time gone?". Spring and summer are always very busy times but I do see life slowing downing a bit. Mike and I took a trip to Hawaii in June to the big island and to Honolulu and I was fortunate to find a Hawaiian quilt class. The class was an interesting mix of people and I came away with a partially finished 12" Hawaiian pineapple pillow top. In August I traveled to Nashville for the AQS show which is held at the Opryland Hotel/Convention Center complex. I thoroughly enjoyed an all day hand appliqué class with Nancy Kerns that combined needleturn appliqué, appliqué 'off the block', and three dimensional blackberries and flowers. If anyone has the opportunity to take a class from Nancy, do so. She is an excellent teacher. Kathy, Emily and I are busy planning for our 3rd Annual Euphoric Applique and Quilting Getaway which will be February 23-25. 2007. Photos are now posted for 2 of our versions of the project with the 3rd soon to follow. Click here to send you right to the photos. We still have openings for the Getaway, are receiving registrations so sign up soon! Please email me or Kathy or Emily if you have any questions. We are trying out new chocolate recipes for the chocolate buffet too. I will be heading out this weekend for the Kansas Quilter's Organization fall meeting in Hesston, Kansas. Karen Kay Buckley is our guest teacher/lecturer for the weekend and will be taking a workshop from her on Sunday which I am very much looking forward to. Enjoy the break from the heat of summer with the current cooler temps and happy quilting. Tresa
